Further information

Your sailing holiday starts at North Pier Oban where we meet at the pontoons just a short walk from the railway station.

Travel to and from Oban is easy  with numerous connections both Train and Bus or good secure long term parking is available.

After an introduction to the boat, Stravaigin, your skipper John  will have a safety brief before casting off.

A short sail to our first night’s anchorage will then allow us to get our sea legs and for you to settle into your home for this mini adventure.

Our itinerary allows us to flexibly sail between islands and remote mainland bays, where we will can go ashore

We ensure we take great care around the species and special qualities these wonderful places offer and can help you gain knowledge and share stories, myths and legends.

On return to the boat, after the all-important coffee and cake we will set sail for our next anchorage.

Each day we will enjoy exploring the beauty of our chosen destination, its clear waters, coast, and landscape and discover a little more about this area known as Earra-Ghàidheal Coast of the Gael.

Before spending the night at anchor under a blanket of stars, perhaps with a dram, or hot chocolate in hand recounting the day’s adventures, planning, and looking forward to the next.

Highlights of this trip are:

An exploration of the coastline of Dàl Riada, an ancient Gaelic kingdom that once encompassed the western seaboard of Scotland.

Your comfort and safety are always at the top of our priority list so exact itineraries may vary to account for wind and weather. However, we are most certainly spoilt for choice when it comes to places to visit.
